You are no doubt familiar with Henri Nouwen and his legacy as one of the great spiritual guides of the 20th century. The 40 books he published during his lifetime have moved readers worldwide.

But you may not be aware of the edifying works published posthumously.

Masterminded by Michael Christensen, Ph.D., and Rebecca Laird, M.A., D.Min., “The Nouwen Trilogy” compiles Nouwen’s unpublished homilies, interviews, classes, and speeches, as well as excerpts from his published writings. Editing these works into a cohesive and definitive guide to the Christian life, Christensen and Laird memorialize his popular teachings.

Available as an audiobook for the first time ever, Spiritual Formation: Following the Movements of the Spirit is the second book in the trilogy. These convenient audio sessions move you through the five classical stages of spiritual development:

  1. Awakening

  2. Purgation

  3. Illumination

  4. Dark Night

  5. Unification

Each session was carefully prepared by Dr. Laird, an award-winning professor of Christian ministry and practice, and Dr. Christensen—one of the lucky people who knew Nouwen in life.

The audiobook is performed by Joe Abbey-Colborne, a veteran of pastoral ministry who played Nouwen in Gabrielle Earnshaw’s presentation “Love, Henri: Letters on the Spiritual Life” with the Henri Nouwen Society.

Enhance your spiritual development today with the combined wisdom of Nouwen and two award-winning professors.
