Simeon Margolis , M.D., Ph.D.
Learn how to stay heart healthy from one of America's top doctors.
During the course of an average human lifetime, the heart beats more than 2.5 billion times and pumps more than 50 million gallons of blood through the body.
Diseases of this amazing pumping muscle still affect 71 million Americans— almost 25 percent of our population.
Avoiding these diseases means knowing how at risk you are and what to do to prevent a risk from becoming a reality. The good news is that advancing medical science has made fighting this killer more possible than ever.
And yet finding a heart-health strategy that fits you can seem daunting, as it means navigating a series of complex issues regarding inherited and acquired risk factors, diagnostic tests, various drug therapies, and changes in your diet, exercise habits, weight, and other “lifestyle” patterns.
That is where this unique audio program can help. Dr. Simeon Margolis brings decades of experience as a gifted teacher, skilled clinician and researcher to bear in explaining how to sort out all the vital questions involved in understanding and preventing heart disease.
For your health and your future, this short, 12-lecture audio program could be one of the best investments you'll ever make, for you and your family. Imagine getting your questions answered by one of the top doctors in the world. Now you can.
Dr. Margolis also shares intriguing insights into the heart. Did you know that, before 1912, heart attacks were considered universally fatal? That stick and tub margarines can have different impacts on cholesterol levels? Did you know that most doctors didn't even try to reduce cholesterol levels before the 1990s? Sprinkled throughout this practical program are interesting facts and stories that make it a fun learning experience.
