This course combines three short scripture courses into one set, taking you into the heart of the Pentateuch.

Fr. Michael D. Guinan, O.F.M., Ph.D.— highly-respected Old Testament scholar and a favorite among Now You Know Media customers—guides you through the biblical books of Leviticus, Numbers and Deuteronomy. Deuteronomy can be broadly described as a “law code,” yet it has a strong flavor of moral preaching and exhortation and an emphasis on fidelity to the holy covenant. Its oft-quoted wisdom is prominent in the New Testament; it’s quoted 70 times!

About Your Presenter

Michael D. Guinan, O.F.M (Ph.D., Catholic University of America) is a Franciscan priest and a Professor of Old Testament, Semitic Languages and Biblical Spirituality at the Franciscan School of Theology in Berkeley, Ca. He has published 10 books, several pamphlets and many articles in publications such as The New Jerome Biblical Commentary, The Collegeville Bible Commentary, and The Message of Biblical Spirituality series. He has taught the Old Testament, Hebrew and Aramaic languages, and biblical spirituality at St. Bonaventure University, St. Patrick's Seminary and the Franciscan Seminary in Manila.
