Fr. John R. Donahue covers The Gospel of Mark. Fr. Donahue is the Raymond E. Brown, Distinguished Professor of New Testament Studies (Emeritus) St. Mary's Seminary and University. He is presently Research Professor at Loyola College in Maryland. Fr. Donahue is past President of the Catholic Biblical Association of America and is a recipient of the Quasten Medal from Catholic University.
Sr. Barbara Reid is your guide through The Gospel of Luke. Sr. Reid is Professor of New Testament at Catholic Theological Union. She has published two books on Luke in addition to her many respected New Testament publications. She is General Editor for Sophia Commentary.

About Your Presenter
Donald Senior, C.P., is president of the Catholic Theological Union in Chicago, where he has taught the New Testament since 1972. A Roman Catholic priest of the Passionist order, Fr. Senior has served on the Pontifical Biblical Commission since Pope John Paul II named him to it in 2001. In addition to having written books and articles too numerous to list, Fr. Senior is general editor of The Bible Today and The Catholic Study Bible, as well as coeditor of the 22-volume commentary New Testament Message. He earned his doctorate in New Testament Studies from the University of Louvain, Belgium, and completed further graduate studies at Hebrew Union College and Harvard University. In 1994, the Catholic Library Association of America gave him its Jerome Award for outstanding scholarship. In 1996, the National Catholic Education Association awarded him the Bishop Loras Lane Award for his outstanding contribution to theological education.
About Your Presenter
Fr. John R. Donahue, S.J., S.T.L. , Ph.D. is the Raymond E. Brown, Distinguished Professor of New Testament Studies (Emeritus) St. Mary's Seminary and University, Baltimore, MD, and is presently Research Professor in Theology at Loyola University Maryland. Fr. Donahue is past President of the Catholic Biblical Association of America, and has served on national and international ecumenical dialogues. He earned his Ph.L and MA degrees at Fordham University and studied theology at Woodstock College in Maryland, where he received the S.T.L. He earned a Ph.D. in New Testament from the University of Chicago, with a doctoral thesis on the Gospel of Mark. Fr. Donahue published three volumes of commentaries on the Sunday Readings one of which won First Place in Professional Books from The Catholic Press Association. Other books include The Gospel of Mark, Are You the Christ: The Trial Narrative in the Gospel of Mark, Theology and Setting of Discipleship in the Gospel of Mark, What Does the Lord Require: A Bibliographical Essay on the Bible and Social Justice, The Gospel in Parable: Metaphor, Narrative and Theology in the Gospel of Mark. From 1998-2001, he wrote the weekly "Word" column for America Magazine.
About Your Presenter
Your presenter is Barbara E. Reid, a Dominican Sister, Academic Dean, and Professor of the New Testament at Catholic Theological Union in Chicago. Her long-standing interest in the Gospel of Luke began while earning her Ph.D. at The Catholic University of America.
The fruits of her work in these areas are published in her books, Choosing the Better Part? Women in the Gospel of Luke, The Parables for Preachers Series, A Retreat With St. Luke, as well as numerous articles. Her most recent book is Taking Up the Cross: New Testament Interpretations Through Latina and Feminist Eyes. She is General Editor for The Wisdom Commentary Series and Sophia's Table: An Introduction to Feminist Biblical Interpretation, forthcoming from Eerdmans Press. Sr. Reid's other Now You Know Media course is Women and the Bible.
