Where do you turn to be spiritually refreshed?

The bible is a treasure trove of deep spiritual insights and heroes of the faith.  However, many Christians seeking insight confine themselves to the New Testament and rarely reach into the Old Testament for spiritual nourishment. If you are one of these believers, you are missing out on a world of wisdom, encouragement and inspiring accounts of faith.

Let Kathleen O’Connor, Ph.D., professor of Old Testament at Columbia Theological Seminary, introduce you to the remarkable spirituality within the Old Testament.

This 12-lecture course surveys themes and passages selected from a variety of Old Testament books. Although these sacred books address realties of ancient Israel at particular historical moments, their messages resound throughout the centuries to speak fresh words to believers in search of the God who makes all things new. No single book or text provides a recipe for true spiritual living; instead, these texts come together to call us to engage the testimony of our ancestors in faith who witness God’s presence in the midst of loss, warfare, intrigues, doubt and joyous times of rebirth and thanksgiving. These voices come from different times and cultural realities than ours, but they stop us, challenge us and urge us to meet the God who rescues from slavery, dries every tear and continues to create the world in love and justice.

This course will open your mind and heart to the Old Testament’s spiritual jewels.  You will love this series.
